Oven not working? Check your timer.
If your oven clock is flashing, and your oven won't switch on, read on.......
I have been to one oven this week where the 'fault' was that one of the ovens wasn't working. On arrival, I immediately saw that the display on the clock was flashing 'A'.
The customer had been trying to set the clock but had inadvertently set the oven into automatic mode where the oven can be set to come on when you are away.
When this mode is set, the oven will not switch on manually.
In most cases, pressing buttons 2 & 3 once, (briefly & simultaneously) then pressing the + or - buttons to adjust the time is all you need to do.
This might be particularly important over this weekend as the clocks go back, and this could happen during adjustment.
Bear in mind also that any interruption to the power supply or power cut in the area will set any automatic oven into auto mode when power is restored so before spending money in calling out a repairman, just check that the display isn't flashing, or that the oven hasn't defaulted to auto mode.
